Titus 3

הזכר אתם להכנע ולשמע לשרים ולשלטונים ולהיות נכונים לכל מעשה טוב׃

ולבלתי גדף אדם ולחדל מריב ולהכריע לכף זכות ולהתנהג בכל ענוה לפני כל אדם׃

כי גם אנחנו היינו מלפנים חסרי דעת וסוררים ותועים ועבדים לתאות ולתשוקות שנות ומתהלכים ברשעה וקנאה ושנואים ושנאים איש את אחיו׃

אמנם כאשר נגלה נעם אלהים מושיענו ורחמנותו אל האדם׃

אז לא בגלל מעשי הצדקה אשר עשינו הושיע אתנו כי אם מתוך חסדו על ידי טבילת התולדה השניה וחדוש רוח הקדש׃

אשר שפך עלינו למכביר על ידי ישוע המשיח מושיענו׃

למען נצדק בחסדו ונירש לפי התקוה את חיי העולמים׃

נאמן הוא הדבר ורצה אני כי תקים את אלה למען אשר ישתדלו המאמינים לאלהים לעשק במעשים טובים עשות כאלה טוב הוא ומועיל לאדם׃

אבל תרחק מן השאלות התפלות ומלמודי תולדות ומן הקטטות ומחלקות בעניני החקים כי אין בהן מועיל והבל הנה׃

ואיש החולק על האמונה אם הוכח פעם ושתים שטה מעליו׃

ודע כי איש כזה איש תהפכות הוא וחוטא בהרשיע את נפשו׃

כאשר אשלח אליך את ארטמס או את טוכיקוס תמהר לבוא אלי לניקפליס כי גמרתי בלבי לשבת שם בימי הסתיו׃

השתדל ללות על דרכם את זינס המלמד בתורה ואת אפולוס למען לא יחסרו דבר׃

וילמדו גם אנשי עדתנו לעשק במעשים טובים לעזר בכל מחסור פן יהיו בלי פרי׃

כל אשר עמדי שאלים לשלומך שאל לשלום האהבים אתנו באמונה החסד עם כלכם אמן׃

1. υπομιμνησκε αυτους αρχαις εξουσιαις υποτασσεσθαι πειθαρχειν προς παν εργον αγαθον ετοιμους ειναι
2. μηδενα βλασφημειν αμαχους ειναι επιεικεις πασαν ενδεικνυμενους πραυτητα προς παντας ανθρωπους
3. ημεν γαρ ποτε και ημεις ανοητοι απειθεις πλανωμενοι δουλευοντες επιθυμιαις και ηδοναις ποικιλαις εν κακια και φθονω διαγοντες στυγητοι μισουντες αλληλους
4. οτε δε η χρηστοτης και η φιλανθρωπια επεφανη του σωτηρος ημων θεου
5. ουκ εξ εργων των εν δικαιοσυνη α εποιησαμεν ημεις αλλα κατα το αυτου ελεος εσωσεν ημας δια λουτρου παλιγγενεσιας και ανακαινωσεως πνευματος αγιου
6. ου εξεχεεν εφ ημας πλουσιως δια ιησου χριστου του σωτηρος ημων
7. ινα δικαιωθεντες τη εκεινου χαριτι κληρονομοι γενηθωμεν κατ ελπιδα ζωης αιωνιου
8. πιστος ο λογος και περι τουτων βουλομαι σε διαβεβαιουσθαι ινα φροντιζωσιν καλων εργων προιστασθαι οι πεπιστευκοτες θεω ταυτα εστιν καλα και ωφελιμα τοις ανθρωποις
9. μωρας δε ζητησεις και γενεαλογιας και και μαχας νομικας περιιστασο εισιν γαρ ανωφελεις και ματαιοι
10. αιρετικον ανθρωπον μετα μιαν και δευτεραν νουθεσιαν παραιτου
11. ειδως οτι εξεστραπται ο τοιουτος και αμαρτανει ων αυτοκατακριτος
12. οταν πεμψω αρτεμαν προς σε η τυχικον σπουδασον ελθειν προς με εις νικοπολιν εκει γαρ κεκρικα παραχειμασαι
13. ζηναν τον νομικον και απολλων σπουδαιως προπεμψον ινα μηδεν αυτοις λειπη
14. μανθανετωσαν δε και οι ημετεροι καλων εργων προιστασθαι εις τας αναγκαιας χρειας ινα μη ωσιν ακαρποι
15. ασπαζονται σε οι μετ εμου παντες ασπασαι τους φιλουντας ημας εν πιστει η χαρις μετα παντων υμων

1. Admone illos principibus, et potestatibus subditos esse, dicto obedire, ad omne opus bonum paratos esse :
2. neminem blasphemare, non litigiosos esse, sed modestos, omnem ostendentes mansuetudinem ad omnes homines.
3. Eramus enim aliquando et nos insipientes, increduli, errantes, servientes desideriis, et voluptatibus variis, in malitia et invidia agentes, odibiles, odientes invicem.
4. Cum autem benignitas et humanitas apparuit Salvatoris nostri Dei,
5. non ex operibus justitiæ, quæ fecimus nos, sed secundum suam misericordiam salvos nos fecit per lavacrum regenerationis et renovationis Spiritus Sancti,
6. quem effudit in nos abunde per Jesum Christum Salvatorem nostrum :
7. ut justificati gratia ipsius, hæredes simus secundum spem vitæ æternæ.
8. Fidelis sermo est : et de his volo te confirmare : ut curent bonis operibus præesse qui credunt Deo. Hæc sunt bona, et utilia hominibus.
9. Stultas autem quæstiones, et genealogias, et contentiones, et pugnas legis devita : sunt enim inutiles, et vanæ.
10. Hæreticum hominem post unam et secundam correptionem devita :
11. sciens quia subversus est, qui ejusmodi est, et delinquit, cum sit proprio judicio condemnatus.
12. Cum misero ad te Artemam, aut Tychicum, festina ad me venire Nicopolim : ibi enim statui hiemare.
13. Zenam legisperitum et Apollo sollicite præmitte, ut nihil illis desit.
14. Discant autem et nostri bonis operibus præesse ad usus necessarios : ut non sint infructuosi.
15. Salutant te qui mecum sunt omnes : saluta eos qui nos amant in fide. Gratia Dei cum omnibus vobis. Amen.

1. Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6. Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7. That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
11. Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
12. When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
13. Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.
14. And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
15. All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
