David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of Yahweh standing between earth and the sky, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

Hebrew וישא דויד את־עיניו וירא את־מלאך יהוה עמד בין הארץ ובין השמים וחרבו שלופה בידו נטויה על־ירושלם ויפל דויד והזקנים מכסים בשקים על־פניהם׃
Greek και επηρεν δαυιδ τους οφθαλμους αυτου και ειδεν τον αγγελον κυριου εστωτα ανα μεσον της γης και ανα μεσον του ουρανου και η ρομφαια αυτου εσπασμενη εν τη χειρι αυτου εκτεταμενη επι ιερουσαλημ και επεσεν δαυιδ και οι πρεσβυτεροι περιβεβλημενοι εν σακκοις επι προσωπον
Latin Levansque David oculos suos, vidit angelum Domini stantem inter cælum et terram, et evaginatum gladium in manu ejus, et versum contra Jerusalem : et ceciderunt tam ipse, quam majores natu, vestiti ciliciis, proni in terram.
