Hebrew ויונתן לא־שמע בהשביע אביו את־העם וישלח את־קצה המטה אשר בידו ויטבל אותה ביערת הדבש וישב ידו אל־פיו עיניו׃
Greek και ιωναθαν ουκ ακηκοει εν τω ορκιζειν τον πατερα αυτου τον λαον και εξετεινεν το ακρον του σκηπτρου αυτου του εν τη χειρι αυτου και εβαψεν αυτο εις το κηριον του μελιτος και επεστρεψεν την χειρα αυτου εις το στομα αυτου και ανεβλεψαν οι οφθαλμοι
Latin Porro Jonathas non audierat cum adjuraret pater ejus populum : extenditque summitatem virgæ, quam habebat in manu, et intinxit in favum mellis : et convertit manum suam ad os suum, et illuminati sunt oculi ejus.
KJV But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.
