It happened on the seventh day, that the child died. The servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, "Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he didn't listen to our voice. How will he then harm himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?"

Hebrew ויהי ביום השביעי וימת הילד ויראו עבדי דוד להגיד לו כי־מת הילד כי אמרו הנה בהיות הילד חי דברנו אליו ולא־שמע בקולנו ואיך נאמר אליו מת הילד ועשה רעה׃
Greek και εγενετο εν τη ημερα τη εβδομη και απεθανε το παιδαριον και εφοβηθησαν οι δουλοι δαυιδ αναγγειλαι αυτω οτι τεθνηκεν το παιδαριον οτι ειπαν ιδου εν τω ετι το παιδαριον ζην ελαλησαμεν προς αυτον και ουκ εισηκουσεν της φωνης ημων και πως ειπωμεν προς αυτον οτι τεθνηκεν το παιδαριον και ποιησει
Latin Accidit autem die septima ut moreretur infans : timueruntque servi David nuntiare ei quod mortuus esset parvulus : dixerunt enim : Ecce cum parvulus adhuc viveret, loquebamur ad eum, et non audiebat vocem nostram : quanto magis si dixerimus : Mortuus est puer, se affliget ?
