Hebrew כי־יצא דבר־המלכה על־כל־הנשים להבזות בעליהן בעיניהן באמרם המלך אחשורוש אמר להביא את־ושתי המלכה לפניו ולא־באה׃
Greek ουτως σημερον αι τυραννιδες αι λοιπαι των αρχοντων περσων και μηδων ακουσασαι τα τω βασιλει λεχθεντα υπ' αυτης τολμησουσιν ομοιως ατιμασαι τους ανδρας
Latin Egredietur enim sermo reginæ ad omnes mulieres, ut contemnant viros suos, et dicant : Rex Assuerus jussit ut regina Vasthi intraret ad eum, et illa noluit.
KJV For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not.
