Hebrew ויצמא שם העם למים וילן העם על־משה ויאמר למה זה העליתנו ממצרים להמית אתי ואת־בני ואת־מקני בצמא׃
Greek εδιψησεν δε εκει ο λαος υδατι και εγογγυζεν εκει ο λαος προς μωυσην λεγοντες ινα τι τουτο ανεβιβασας ημας εξ αιγυπτου αποκτειναι ημας και τα τεκνα ημων και τα κτηνη τω
Latin Sitivit ergo ibi populus præ aquæ penuria, et murmuravit contra Moysen, dicens : Cur fecisti nos exire de Ægypto, ut occideres nos, et liberos nostros, ac jumenta siti ?
KJV And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
