Then they said, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

Hebrew ויאמרו לכו ונחשבה על־ירמיהו מחשבות כי לא־תאבד תורה מכהן ועצה מחכם ודבר מנביא לכו ונכהו בלשון ואל־נקשיבה אל־כל־דבריו׃
Greek και ειπαν δευτε λογισωμεθα επι ιερεμιαν λογισμον οτι ουκ απολειται νομος απο ιερεως και βουλη απο συνετου και λογος απο προφητου δευτε και παταξωμεν αυτον εν γλωσση και ακουσομεθα παντας τους λογους
Latin Et dixerunt : Venite, et cogitemus contra Jeremiam cogitationes : non enim peribit lex a sacerdote, neque consilium a sapiente, nec sermo a propheta : venite, et percutiamus eum lingua, et non attendamus ad universos sermones ejus.
