The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and to this day they drink none, for they obey their father's commandment: but I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; and you have not listened to me.

Hebrew הוקם את־דברי יהונדב בן־רכב אשר־צוה את־בניו לבלתי שתות־יין ולא שתו עד־היום הזה כי שמעו את מצות אביהם ואנכי דברתי אליכם השכם ודבר ולא שמעתם אלי׃
Greek εστησαν ρημα υιοι ιωναδαβ υιου ρηχαβ ο ενετειλατο τοις τεκνοις αυτου προς το μη πιειν οινον και ουκ επιοσαν και εγω ελαλησα προς υμας ορθρου και ελαλησα και ουκ
Latin Prævaluerunt sermones Jonadab filii Rechab, quos præcepit filiis suis ut non biberent vinum, et non biberunt usque ad diem hanc, quia obedierunt præcepto patris sui : ego autem locutus sum ad vos, de mane consurgens et loquens, et non obedistis mihi.
KJV The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
