Does it strike anyone else as wrong that the pope is referred to as the Holy Father? I believe that this is a title that should be reserved for God the Father only...

Nope... Not at all odd. He is God's representitive on earth, hence being called the holy father (as in: on earth).

My hope is that the next pope is a man whose overwhelming primary aim is to spread the message of the Gospel - that God loves us so much that he would send his only Son to die on the Cross for our forgiveness. I hope that he does not put emphasis on saints and Mary, or papal infallibility and primacy, nor purgatory or prayers for the dead. I'm praying that the Gospel of Christ's death and resurrection is his aim and purpose.
