Many historians (including non-Christian historians) agree that there is good historical evidence of the life and crucifixion of [[Jesus]]. Apart from the [[Bible]], there are numerous mentions of Jesus in historical texts. But perhaps most compelling that Jesus existed is that fact that just a few short years after his His death, thousands of people were boldly proclaiming his His name and were willing to die throughout the Roman Empire. While some modern atheists might claim that the [[Gospels]] are not conclusive evidence that Jesus existed, it's difficult to deny their reliability. The gospels were written during the lifetimes of their supposed authors and were written with the intent of documenting Jesus' life and teachings: not fabricating a religion. That's why the [[New Testament]] canon of Gospels is typically considered historically accurate enough to say that Jesus' birth, ministry, and crucifixion all happened. Jesus' miracles are disputed although many secular historians have difficulties explaining how Jesus may have raised from the dead or at least seemed to have raised from the dead enough that most of Jesus' disciples would go to their graves claiming that He was resurrected.
