The Armenian Church accepts the first three ecumenical councils which are as follows:

* [[Council of Constantinople]]
* [[Council of Ephesus]]
However, the Armenian Church did not accept the [[Council of Chalcedon ]] in 451.
The Armenian Apostolic Church has Miaphysitism (or henophysitism) as a key belief, which holds that in the one person of Jesus Christ, Divinity and Humanity are united in one "nature" ("physis"), the two being united without separation, without confusion, and without alteration.[1]
