Tait is considered one of the most accomplished singers in the [[Christian music]] scene. He is also a self-taught guitar player. One of Tait's three sisters is Lynda Randle, who is a gospel singer with the [[Gaither Homecoming]] Series.

==dc Talk== Tait met his [[dc Talk]] partners, [[Toby McKeehan]] and [[Kevin Max]], while attending [[Liberty University]] in the late 1980s. Together, they released 5 acclaimed studio albums.
