There are many different kinds of NRSV Bible, to suit every denomination. This includes, "NRSV Catholic Edition Anglicized text", "NRSV with Apocyrpha" and many others.
The Language of this translation is congratulated for its elegant speech, staying true to the original language of the text but also being distinctly modern, with none of the pronouns such as, "Thou" and "Didst". To some this may come regretable, but it should be noted that in the original manuscripts none of these pronouns are used in regards to GOD (YHVH).
Certain denominations have criticized the bible for its use of inclusive languag language in regards to the sexes, using "Brothers and Sisters" where much older bibles would have rendered "Brother." But this decision was made due to certain places in passages where the intended audience was to both men and woman, and the commitee has been extremely careful as to accurately portray the language of the original text, as closely as possible but with much modern language.
