Archelaus’ ethnarchy of Judaea (4 BC-AD 6) embraced Judaea in the narrower sense and Samaria, and the same is true of the Rom. province of Judaea from AD 6 to 41. ''Palaestina '' was also used by the Romans for to designate the whole region.
