The name which the [[Jew (EBD)|Jews ]] gave in their proper tongue, i.e., in [[wikipedia:Aramaic|Aramaic]], to the [[Field (EBD)|field ]] which was purchased with the [[Money (EBD)|money ]] which had been given to the betrayer of our [[Lord (EBD)|Lord]]. The word means "field of [[Blood (EBD)|blood]]." It was previously called "the [[Potters field (EBD)|potter's field]]" (Matt. 27:7, 8; Acts 1:19), and was appropriated as the [[Burial (EBD)|burial]]-place for [[Stranger (EBD)|strangers]]. It lies on a narrow level terrace on the [[South (EBD)|south ]] face of the [[Valley (EBD)|valley ]] of [[Hinnom (EBD)|Hinnom]]. Its modern name is Hak ed-damm.
