Numbers 18 Text (WEB)
  1. Yahweh said to Aaron, "You and your sons and your fathers' house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
  2. Your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring near with you, that they may be joined to you, and minister to you: but you and your sons with you shall be before the tent of the testimony.
  3. They shall keep your commands, and the duty of all the Tent: only they shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary and to the altar, that they not die, neither they, nor you.
  4. They shall be joined to you, and keep the responsibility of the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent: and a stranger shall not come near to you.
  5. "You shall perform the duty of the sanctuary, and the duty of the altar; that there be wrath no more on the children of Israel.
  6. I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are a gift, given to Yahweh, to do the service of the Tent of Meeting.
  7. You and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood for everything of the altar, and for that within the veil; and you shall serve: I give you the priesthood as a service of gift: and the stranger who comes near shall be put to death."
  8. Yahweh spoke to Aaron, "I, behold, I have given you the command of my wave offerings, even all the holy things of the children of Israel; to you have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to your sons, as a portion forever.
  9. This shall be yours of the most holy things, [reserved] from the fire: every offering of theirs, even every meal offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render to me, shall be most holy for you and for your sons.
  10. You shall eat of it like the most holy things. Every male shall eat of it. It shall be holy to you.
  11. "This is yours, too: the wave offering of their gift, even all the wave offerings of the children of Israel. I have given them to you, and to your sons and to your daughters with you, as a portion forever. Everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.
  12. "All the best of the oil, and all the best of the vintage, and of the grain, the first fruits of them which they give to Yahweh, to you have I given them.
  13. The first-ripe fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to Yahweh, shall be yours; everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.
  14. "Everything devoted in Israel shall be yours.
  15. Everything that opens the womb, of all flesh which they offer to Yahweh, both of man and animal shall be yours: nevertheless you shall surely redeem the firstborn of man, and you shall redeem the firstborn of unclean animals.
  16. You shall redeem those who are to be redeemed of them from a month old, according to your estimation, for five shekels of money, after the shekel of the sanctuary (the same is twenty gerahs).
  17. "But you shall not redeem the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat. They are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.
  18. Their flesh shall be yours, as the wave offering breast and as the right thigh, it shall be yours.
  19. All the wave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, have I given you, and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your seed with you."
  20. Yahweh said to Aaron, "You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.
  21. "To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.
  22. Henceforth the children of Israel shall not come near the Tent of Meeting, lest they bear sin, and die.
  23. But the Levites shall do the service of the Tent of Meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations; and among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
  24. For the tithe of the children of Israel, which they offer as a wave offering to Yahweh, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance: therefore I have said to them, 'Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.'"
  25. Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
  26. "Moreover you shall speak to the Levites, and tell them, 'When you take of the children of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a wave offering of it for Yahweh, a tithe of the tithe.
  27. Your wave offering shall be reckoned to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.
  28. Thus you also shall offer a wave offering to Yahweh of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and of it you shall give Yahweh's wave offering to Aaron the priest.
  29. Out of all your gifts you shall offer every wave offering of Yahweh, of all its best, even the holy part of it out of it.'
  30. "Therefore you shall tell them, 'When you heave its best from it, then it shall be reckoned to the Levites as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the winepress.
  31. You shall eat it in every place, you and your households: for it is your reward in return for your service in the Tent of Meeting.
  32. You shall bear no sin by reason of it, when you have heaved from it its best: and you shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, that you not die.'"

  1. ויאמר יהוה אל־אהרן אתה ובניך ובית־אביך אתך תשאו את־עון המקדש ואתה ובניך אתך תשאו את־עון כהנתכם׃
  2. וגם את־אחיך מטה לוי שבט אביך הקרב אתך וילוו עליך וישרתוך ואתה ובניך אתך לפני אהל העדת׃
  3. ושמרו משמרתך ומשמרת כל־האהל אך אל־כלי הקדש ואל־המזבח לא יקרבו ולא־ימתו גם־הם גם־אתם׃
  4. ונלוו עליך ושמרו את־משמרת אהל מועד לכל עבדת האהל וזר לא־יקרב אליכם׃
  5. ושמרתם את משמרת הקדש ואת משמרת המזבח ולא־יהיה עוד קצף על־בני ישראל׃
  6. ואני הנה לקחתי את־אחיכם הלוים מתוך בני ישראל לכם מתנה נתנים ליהוה לעבד את־עבדת אהל מועד׃
  7. ואתה ובניך אתך תשמרו את־כהנתכם לכל־דבר המזבח ולמבית לפרכת ועבדתם עבדת מתנה אתן את־כהנתכם והזר הקרב יומת׃ ס

  20. ויאמר יהוה אל־אהרן בארצם לא תנחל וחלק לא־יהיה לך בתוכם אני חלקך ונחלתך בתוך בני ישראל׃ ס
  21. ולבני לוי הנה נתתי כל־מעשר בישראל לנחלה חלף עבדתם אשר־הם עבדים את־עבדת אהל מועד׃
  22. ולא־יקרבו עוד בני ישראל אל־אהל מועד לשאת חטא למות׃

  1. και ειπεν κυριος προς ααρων λεγων συ και οι υιοι σου και ο οικος πατριας σου λημψεσθε τας αμαρτιας των αγιων και συ και οι υιοι σου λημψεσθε τας αμαρτιας της ιερατειας
  2. και τους αδελφους σου φυλην λευι δημον του πατρος σου προσαγαγου προς σεαυτον και προστεθητωσαν σοι και λειτουργειτωσαν σοι και συ και οι υιοι σου μετα σου απεναντι της σκηνης του
  3. και φυλαξονται τας φυλακας σου και τας φυλακας της σκηνης πλην προς τα σκευη τα αγια και προς το θυσιαστηριον ου προσελευσονται και ουκ αποθανουνται και ουτοι και
  4. και προστεθησονται προς σε και φυλαξονται τας φυλακας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου κατα πασας τας λειτουργιας της σκηνης και ο αλλογενης ου προσελευσεται προς
  5. και φυλαξεσθε τας φυλακας των αγιων και τας φυλακας του θυσιαστηριου και ουκ εσται θυμος εν τοις υιοις
  6. και εγω ειληφα τους αδελφους υμων τους λευιτας εκ μεσου των υιων ισραηλ δομα δεδομενον κυριω λειτουργειν τας λειτουργιας της σκηνης του
  7. και συ και οι υιοι σου μετα σου διατηρησετε την ιερατειαν υμων κατα παντα τροπον του θυσιαστηριου και το ενδοθεν του καταπετασματος και λειτουργησετε τας λειτουργιας δομα της ιερατειας υμων και ο αλλογενης ο προσπορευομενος
  8. και ελαλησεν κυριος προς ααρων και εγω ιδου δεδωκα υμιν την διατηρησιν των απαρχων απο παντων των ηγιασμενων μοι παρα των υιων ισραηλ σοι δεδωκα αυτα εις γερας και τοις υιοις σου μετα σε νομιμον
  9. και τουτο εστω υμιν απο των ηγιασμενων αγιων των καρπωματων απο παντων των δωρων αυτων και απο παντων των θυσιασματων αυτων και απο πασης πλημμελειας αυτων και απο πασων των αμαρτιων οσα αποδιδοασιν μοι απο παντων των αγιων σοι εσται και τοις υιοις
  10. εν τω αγιω των αγιων φαγεσθε αυτα παν αρσενικον φαγεται αυτα συ και οι υιοι σου αγια εσται
  11. και τουτο εσται υμιν απαρχη δοματων αυτων απο παντων των επιθεματων των υιων ισραηλ σοι δεδωκα αυτα και τοις υιοις σου και ταις θυγατρασιν σου μετα σου νομιμον αιωνιον πας καθαρος εν τω οικω σου εδεται

  18. και τα κρεα εσται σοι καθα και το στηθυνιον του επιθεματος και κατα τον βραχιονα τον δεξιον σοι

  1. Dixitque Dominus ad Aaron : Tu, et filii tui, et domus patris tui tecum, portabitis iniquitatem sanctuarii : et tu et filii tui simul sustinebitis peccata sacerdotii vestri.
  2. Sed et fratres tuos de tribu Levi, et sceptrum patris tui sume tecum, præstoque sint, et ministrent tibi : tu autem et filii tui ministrabitis in tabernaculo testimonii.
  3. Excubabuntque Levitæ ad præcepta tua, et ad cuncta opera tabernaculi : ita dumtaxat ut ad vasa sanctuarii et ad altare non accedant, ne et illi moriantur, et vos pereatis simul.
  4. Sint autem tecum, et excubent in custodiis tabernaculi, et in omnibus cæremoniis ejus. Alienigena non miscebitur vobis.
  5. Excubate in custodia sanctuarii, et in ministerio altaris : ne oriatur indignatio super filios Israël.
  6. Ego dedi vobis fratres vestros Levitas de medio filiorum Israël, et tradidi donum Domino, ut serviant in ministeriis tabernaculi ejus.

  9. Hæc ergo accipies de his, quæ sanctificantur et oblata sunt Domino. Omnis oblatio, et sacrificium, et quidquid pro peccato atque delicto redditur mihi, et cedit in Sancta sanctorum, tuum erit, et filiorum tuorum.
  10. In sanctuario comedes illud : mares tantum edent ex eo, quia consecratum est tibi.

  12. Omnem medullam olei, et vini, ac frumenti, quidquid offerunt primitiarum Domino, tibi dedi.

  14. Omne quod ex voto reddiderint filii Israël, tuum erit.
  15. Quidquid primum erumpit e vulva cunctæ carnis, quam offerunt Domino, sive ex hominibus, sive de pecoribus fuerit, tui juris erit : ita dumtaxat ut pro hominis primogenito pretium accipias, et omne animal quod immundum est redimi facias,
  16. cujus redemptio erit post unum mensem, siclis argenti quinque, pondere sanctuarii. Siclus viginti obolos habet.
  17. Primogenitum autem bovis, et ovis, et capræ, non facies redimi, quia sanctificata sunt Domino. Sanguinem tantum eorum fundes super altare, et adipes adolebis in suavissimum odorem Domino.
  18. Carnes vero in usum tuum cedent, sicut pectusculum consecratum, et armus dexter : tua erunt.
  19. Omnes primitias sanctuarii, quas offerunt filii Israël Domino, tibi dedi, et filiis, ac filiabus tuis, jure perpetuo. Pactum salis est sempiternum coram Domino, tibi ac filiis tuis.

  1. And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
  2. And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
  3. And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
  4. And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
  5. And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
  6. And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
  7. Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
  8. And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.
  9. This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.
  10. In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee.
  11. And this is thine; the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it.
  12. All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee.
  13. And whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the LORD, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.
  14. Every thing devoted in Israel shall be thine.
  15. Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.
  16. And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.
  17. But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
  18. And the flesh of them shall be thine, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are thine.
  19. All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.
  20. And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.
  21. And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
  22. Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
  23. But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
  24. But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
  25. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
  26. Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
  27. And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.
  28. Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD's heave offering to Aaron the priest.
  29. Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
  30. Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
  31. And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
  32. And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
