Here was the [[Text:EBD:Palace|palace]] which was the residence of the old Median monarchs, and of [[Text:EBD:Cyrus|Cyrus]] and [[Text:EBD:wikipedia:Cambyses|Cambyses]]. In the time of [[Ezra|Ezra]], the [[Text:EBD:Persia|Persian]] [[Text:EBD:King|kings]] resided usually at [[Text:EBD:Wikipedia:Susa|Susa]] of [[Babylon|Babylon]]. But Cyrus held his court at Achmetha; and Ezra, writing a century after, correctly mentions the place where the decree of Cyrus was found.
