Changes

(Ezra 6:2), called [[Text:EBD:Ecbatana |Ecbatana]] by classical writers, the capital of northern [[Text:EBD:Media|Media]]. Here was the [[Text:EBD:Palace|palace ]] which was the residence of the old Median monarchs, and of [[Text:EBD:Cyrus|Cyrus ]] and [[Text:EBD:wikipedia:Cambyses|Cambyses]]. In the time of [[Ezra|Ezra]], the [[Text:EBD:Persia|Persian ]] [[Text:EBD:King|kings ]] resided usually at [[Text:EBD:Wikipedia:Susa |Susa]] of [[Babylon|Babylon]]. But Cyrus held his court at Achmetha; and Ezra, writing a century after, correctly mentions the place where the decree of Cyrus was found.
