Maronites are members of an Eastern Catholic Church in full communion with the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. Their heritage reaches back to the Christian hermit, Maron in the early 5th century. Most Maronites live in Lebanon and are Arabic-speaking, but Syriac is the liturgical language. (Read more) |
