Pillar is a Christian rock band. Pillar that originally started with playing in played a rap metal style, and but has since moved more to a more hard rock sound. Their second album "Fireproof " sold over 300,000 copies. Pillar then released their next album "Where Do We Go From Here?."
"Where Do We Go From Here was released as an instant hit among Christian rock fans everywhere, capturing " featured multiple hits and captured #1 position on sales in the genre for weeks. The album featured multiple hits, including song "Bring Me Down" which topped the charts for months. Not and was not only played on Christian shows and stations played "Bring Me Down", however, it but was also requested heavily on secular stations as well.
Pillar was voted Best Hard Rock Band in CCM Magazine's 2006 Reader's Choice Awards.
Pillar recorded their fourth album, "The Reckoning", in early 2006. Travis Wyrick (P.O.D., 10 Years, Disciple) produced the new album, which was released on October 3rd, 2006. Pillar also released an EP called "Nothing Comes for Free " in June of 2006. It featured 3 three new songs (including "Everything") and 4 four live tracks. The other 2 two new songs, "Our Escape " and "Dangerous", are not available on "The Reckoning " album. The EP was only available at live shows and at their webstore. A limited number of copies (10,000) were created.
Pillar has played at both Cornerstone Festival and Creation Festival.
