Hebrew is a Semitic language of the Afro-Asiatic language family spoken by more than seven million people in Israel and Jewish communities around the world. The core of the Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew. The word "Hebrew" is also used as an ajdective to describe a Jewish person or custom.
