Gospels included
There exists multiple Christian books that were written in the first and second centuries AD (some wrote as late as the 7th century AD) that were not included in the New Testament. The reasons vary, but many of whom were considered forgeries by the Early Christians and some were completely heretical. This reason stands in contrast to why the Old Testament didn't include many books from the Apocrypha, for which it was over language disputes and Protestants point out that Jesus never quoted the books included the Apocrypha.
There exists no branches of Christianity that recognizes any of the New Testament Apocrypha literature. Many of them contradict Christian theology and many were wrote too late to have been written by their respective authors.
