Welcome

Hi Kathleen. Thanks for you contributions. --Muser 03:38, 5 November 2007 (EST)

Hello Kathleen. It's nice to see a fellow Adelaidean editing at WikiChristian. Would you like put a link for your church in the Churches in Adelaide Index section? --Graham grove 03:54, 5 November 2007 (EST)

(I read your reply to Graham grove). I agree, that the spam filter is a bit annoying isn't it? I'm not sure how to change it, but I guess we just work around it. I'm intrigued by your statement that "I am a Christian but I don't go to church because some people that go to church are hypocrites." - I'm not offended in any way, I'm just intrigued. Could you expand a little? --Muser 05:08, 5 November 2007 (EST)

Hi Kathleen. Thanks for your contributions so far. I notice that you removed some of the "red" links in different articles. I think that its worth keeping these red links in, because eventually they be editted and new pages will be created. So rather than removing red links, it may be better to add content to them. Oh, by the way, have you seen: WikiChristian:Beliefs? --Muser 15:16, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Hi. Yes I've seen the Vietnamese pages. Someone worked on them some time ago. I think they are passages from the Bible. I'm happy to leave it for the moment, and see if someone continues to work on it in the future. --Graham grove 14:21, 9 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for putting all the clean-up tags. Unfortunately it still doesn't solve the problem. For example, I've deleted the givemepink page for About Moore College, but if you search for "Moore College" it still appears. The problem appears to be related to the single slash (/) and the double slash (//). --Muser 21:29, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Okay, I've worked out a way of getting rid of the files with the // as well. It takes a little time, but I'll get there over the next few weeks. --Muser 22:05, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks by the way for the work you are doing. You might have noticed that there are different styles of pages. Currently we are working on changing all the pages to the standard style that is described at Wikichristian:Page Layout. We would love for you to help us change some of the older pages into this style. Note that this style is for the main article for a topic; it doesn't apply for opinion articles (see Wikichristian:Opinion articles for information about these). --Muser 22:18, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Re: Vandalism Reverting

Hi Kathleen! Thanks for removing the vandalism of the funny looking animal-thing from those pages. Where do people come up with this stuff? Actually, a better question is why do they come up with it?

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that next time you revert vandalism, make sure you don't just blank the page; if you do that, then all the work previously made on that page will be erased, and someone has to go back and revert again to the last non-vandalised version. If only one vandal edit has been made to the page, just use the "undo" button found in the page's history. If two or more vandal edits have been made to the same page, then:

  1. Click "History" at the top of the article,
  2. Click the date of the last non-vandalised version,
  3. Click "edit the page" when the page opens,
  4. Type in an edit summary such as "reverted vandalism" and then click save.

We cleaned it all up; there was plenty of it :-) Just another immature kid, by the sounds of it. Thanks for your help. -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 17:28, 13 January 2008 (PST)

Dead Sea and WikiProject Invitation

Hi Kathleen,

Sorry I took so long in acting upon your message. To be honest, I didn't see it until just today. I can't think how I missed it, especially for so long. Instead of deleting Dead Sea, I thought it would just be better to redirect it to Dead Sea (EBD). And I left Graham Grove a reminder about your invitation. You still wanted me to, right? God bless! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 19:13, 16 April 2008 (PDT)

Category Problem

Hi Kathleen,

Again, sorry for the delayed response :) I think the problem with the Template Category showing up on articles is because, since the whole template is transcluded, the categories are moved onto the articles as well. The way to fix it would be to go to the template page and put the following code around the category link:

<noinclude>[[Catgeory:NAME]]</noinclude>

Whatever is between the two "no include" tags will not be transcluded to the articles the template is used on. I tried it with WikiChristian:Video of the day and it worked; the main page is no longer in the video of the day category :)

Now, I know on your Wikipedia user page it says you do not want to be an admin, but I think you could really help out here with the extra tools (working on the protected templates, deleting all the spam articles you're always coming across, etc.). Would you like me to make you a sysop?

God bless! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 19:30, 20 May 2008 (PDT)

P.S. -- I moved the CKB article on Bible trivia into Category:Bible.

Okay, you're now an admin. The sysop tools are pretty straightforward and easy to use (and no, you don't have to read any specific policies). The only thing that may seem difficult at first is blocking; but if you follow the instructions at Special:Blockip, you'll get it :) Reading the various admin-related pages on Wikipedia obviously couldn't hurt, though. I'm not sure how to fix the template problem at the CKB, but I'll look into it. Anyways, thanks for those sites you recommended :)
Feel free to protect any pages in your user-space if you want, except your talk, obviously :) And don't feel shy about using the sysop priviledges. If you make a mistake, it can be undone (contrary to what everyone on Wikipedia says, but what do they know?).
God bless, P.B. Pilhet / Talk 02:26, 22 May 2008 (PDT)
P.S. You don't need to bother with semi-protection, as IP's can't edit WikiChristian any more anyways.
I can't seem to find a way around the category problem; first off, noincluding the templates doesn't seem to remove the articles from the categories (for some crazy reason), and second the articles' formatting gets all screwed up. I think we should just remove the Category:Template thing altogether. It's unfortunate, but I think it's the only thing to do. I've already tried every wiki formatting trick I know :( And yeah, if rollback will help speed up your various tasks, feel free to use it :) -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 18:02, 22 May 2008 (PDT)

Returnto

Hi Kathleen. Thanks for all your organizing work. Could you however please keep all the of the returnto sections at the end of a page. Remember that this is not wikipedia and has some differences. Take a look at Wikichristian.org:Page Layout section. Thanks. --Graham grove 01:01, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

Hi Kathleen. I think the problem has been solved by putting the "noinclude" section into the return to template. I just edited A Mighty Stronghold is our God (song) - before I editted it, it was in the Categories:Template page, but after saving it, it no longer was. I think each page with "returnto" in it just needs to be resaved for it to disappear from the Categories:Template page. Hope this helps. Cheers. --Graham grove 03:12, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

Congrats!

...on blocking your first vandal :) Just one thing though, make sure that when you use a block template on the vandal's talk page that you "subst" the template. This puts less load on the server, and also enables the automatic signature feature to work in the template (so you don't have to sign any block templates). Thanks a bunch for all the cleanup you've been doing!!! It means so much to everyone at WikiChristian :) God bless! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 00:58, 6 June 2008 (PDT)

P.S. -- Particulary, thanks for removng the givemepink crap. I got your email, and yes, those redirects are very time-consuming and tiring to get rid of! :) -- 01:00, 6 June 2008 (PDT)

Latest Vandalsim

Hi Kathleen, don't bother using rollback on the latest vandalism ("love from ebaums"), because it will just revert to more vandalism. The vandal, whoever he is, is obviously using a script to vandalize an article with one account, then vandalize it again with another account, thus causing rollback to only revert to the first vandal edit. I'm going to go around other wikis and ask how we can prevent this from happening again. In the mean time, we just have a lot of boring manual reverting to do. -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 17:59, 9 June 2008 (PDT)
