Commentary
Authorship
The book's authorship is not known but it was most likely wrote by a Jewish man before 100 B.C. Some scholars believe it was originally wrote in Hebrew but no existing copies of the book in Hebrew exist. The oldest surviving manuscripts suggest the book was written in Greek.
