John 11 - "When Jesus entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house..."
John 11 tells the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead. He was a close friend of Jesus who lived in Bethany. Jesus states the famous line in John 11:25, "I am the resurrection, and the life...". The story climaxes with the Jesus calling Lazarus out of the tomb, and Lazarus walking out, alive! The story also contains the shortest verse, "Jesus wept" - John 11:35. The miracle, the longest coherent narrative in John aside from the Passion, is the climax of John's "signs" and leads directly to the decision of Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin to kill Jesus. (Read more)
