Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says Yahweh.

Greek | υιος αγαπητος εφραιμ εμοι παιδιον εντρυφων οτι ανθ' ων οι λογοι μου εν αυτω μνεια μνησθησομαι αυτου δια τουτο εσπευσα επ' αυτω ελεων ελεησω αυτον φησιν |
Latin | Si filius honorabilis mihi Ephraim, si puer delicatus ! quia ex quo locutus sum de eo, adhuc recordabor ejus. Idcirco conturbata sunt viscera mea super eum : miserans miserebor ejus, ait Dominus. |
