In brief: The Bible tells us that Jesus is God in human flesh (John 1:1 and 1:14). This doctrine is called the hypostatic union. He is not half God and half man. He is fully divine and fully man. Understanding this completely is not possible in this life. Disagreements regarding Christ's nature have occurred since the times of the early church causing considerable tension at times.  ----  Explanations* #REDIRECT The Christian teaching of the nature Nature of Christ: fully God and fully man* Jesus' two natures (CARMPedia)* Hypostatic union (theopedia)  Articles and opinions* Comments on the nature of Christ* The True Jesus (carm)  Quotes* Bible quotes about the nature of Christ* Quotes about the nature of Christ  See also* Jesus, the man* Jesus, our Lord and God* Monophysitism* Miaphysitism ----  Return to Jesus contents page  topics
