- Then Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where [Yahweh] appeared to David his father, which he prepared in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
- He began to build in the second [day] of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
- Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
- The porch that was before [the house], its length, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height one hundred twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.
- The greater house he made a ceiling with fir wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and ornamented it with palm trees and chains.
- He garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
- He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold; and engraved cherubim on the walls.
- He made the most holy house: its length, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
- The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He overlaid the upper rooms with gold.
- In the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold.
- The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: the wing of the one [cherub] was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was [likewise] five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
- The wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits [also], joining to the wing of the other cherub.
- The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.
- He made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and ornamented it with cherubim.
- Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.
- He made chains in the oracle, and put [them] on the tops of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
- He set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

- ויחל שלמה לבנות את־בית־יהוה בירושלם בהר המוריה אשר נראה לדויד אביהו אשר הכין במקום דויד בגרן ארןן היבוסי׃
- ויחל לבנות בחדש השני בשני בשנת ארבע למלכותו׃
- ואלה הוסד שלמה לבנות את־בית האלהים הארך אמות במדה הראשונה אמות ששים ורחב אמות עשרים׃
- והאולם אשר על־פני הארך על־פני רחב־הבית אמות עשרים והגבה מאה ועשרים ויצפהו מפנימה זהב טהור׃
- ואת הבית הגדול חפה עץ ברושים ויחפהו זהב טוב ויעל עליו תמרים ושרשרות׃
- ויצף את־הבית אבן יקרה לתפארת והזהב זהב פרוים׃
- ויחף את־הבית הקרות הספים וקירותיו ודלתותיו זהב ופתח כרובים על־הקירות׃ ס
- ויעש את־בית־קדש הקדשים ארכו על־פני רחב־הבית אמות עשרים ורחבו אמות עשרים ויחפהו זהב טוב לככרים שש מאות׃
- ומשקל למסמרות לשקלים חמשים זהב והעליות חפה זהב׃
- ויעש בבית־קדש הקדשים כרובים שנים מעשה צעצעים ויצפו אתם זהב׃
- וכנפי הכרובים ארכם אמות עשרים כנף האחד לאמות חמש מגעת לקיר הבית והכנף האחרת אמות חמש מגיע לכנף הכרוב האחר׃
- וכנף הכרוב האחד אמות חמש מגיע לקיר הבית והכנף האחרת אמות חמש דבקה לכנף הכרוב האחר׃
- כנפי הכרובים האלה פרשים אמות עשרים והם עמדים על־רגליהם ופניהם לבית׃ ס
- ויעש את־הפרכת תכלת וארגמן וכרמיל ובוץ ויעל עליו כרובים׃ ס
- ויעש לפני הבית עמודים שנים אמות שלשים וחמש ארך והצפת אשר־על־ראשו אמות חמש׃ ס
- ויעש שרשרות בדביר ויתן על־ראש העמדים ויעש רמונים מאה ויתן בשרשרות׃
- ויקם את־העמודים על־פני ההיכל אחד מימין ואחד מהשמאול ויקרא שם־ יכין ושם השמאלי בעז׃ ס

- Et cœpit Salomon ædificare domum Domini in Jerusalem in monte Moria, qui demonstratus fuerat David patri ejus, in loco, quem paraverat David in area Ornan Jebusæi.
- Cœpit autem ædificare mense secundo, anno quarto regni sui.
- Et hæc sunt fundamenta, quæ jecit Salomon, ut ædificaret domum Dei : longitudinis cubitos in mensura prima sexaginta, latitudinis cubitos viginti.
- Porticum vero ante frontem, quæ tendebatur in longum juxta mensuram latitudinis domus, cubitorum viginti : porro altitudo centum viginti cubitorum erat : et deauravit eam intrinsecus auro mundissimo.
- Domum quoque majorem texit tabulis ligneis abiegnis, et laminas auri obrizi affixit per totum : sculpsitque in ea palmas, et quasi catenulas se invicem complectentes.
- Stravit quoque pavimentum templi pretiosissimo marmore, decore multo.
- Porro aurum erat probatissimum, de cujus laminis texit domum, et trabes ejus, et postes, et parietes, et ostia : et cælavit cherubim in parietibus.
- Fecit quoque domum Sancti sanctorum : longitudinem juxta latitudinem domus cubitorum viginti : et latitudinem similiter viginti cubitorum : et laminis aureis texit eam, quasi talentis sexcentis.
- Sed et clavos fecit aureos, ita ut singuli clavi siclos quinquagenos appenderent : cœnacula quoque texit auro.
- Fecit etiam in domo Sancti sanctorum cherubim duos, opere statuario : et texit eos auro.
- Alæ cherubim viginti cubitis extendebantur, ita ut una ala haberet cubitos quinque et tangeret parietem domus : et altera quinque cubitos habens, alam tangeret alterius cherub.
- Similiter cherub alterius ala, quinque habebat cubitos, et tangebat parietem : et ala ejus altera quinque cubitorum, alam cherub alterius contingebat.

- Fecit quoque velum ex hyacintho, purpura, cocco, et bysso : et intexuit ei cherubim.
- Ante fores etiam templi duas columnas, quæ triginta et quinque cubitos habebant altitudinis : porro capita earum, quinque cubitorum.
- Necnon et quasi catenulas in oraculo, et superposuit eas capitibus columnarum : malogranata etiam centum, quæ catenulis interposuit.

- And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
- Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
- And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.
- And the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.
- And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
- He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.
- And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
- And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.
- And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold.

- Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.
- And he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
- And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
