Texts

An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt thereon thy burnt-offerings, and thy peace-offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in every place where I record my name I will come unto thee and I will bless thee. (ASV) (Exodus 20:24)

For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt-offerings or sacrifices: (ASV) (Jeremiah 7:22)

The Problem

How can God say in Jeremiah that He didn't speak of sacrifices when He so obviously did?
