Bhutan is one of the most isolated nations in the world with foreign influences and tourism heavily regulated by the government to preserve its traditional Tibetan [[Buddhist]] culture. [[Mahayana]] Buddhism is the state religion and there is persecution of followers of other religions. Christians are not allowed to pray ot worship in public, or meet together in house gatherings.
