Since infants are baptized in these churches, this often means that a young child can be called a Christian. Alternatively, many Protestants consider that a personal belief in Jesus as saviour defines a person as Christian. In countries where Christianity is historically the majority religion, the term is often used to describe anyone who has a vague belief in God.
