The church has often in history been active in education. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries governments around the world took over most aspects of education although Christian schools and universities still remain, and in some countries, have become more popular in recent years.
University training in theology is provided by Bible colleges around the world, for example, [[Moore College (Sydney, Australia)|Moore College]] in Sydney.
