Daniel 11 describes a vision of events that occurred in the second century BC about the struggle between the Seleucids (the king of the north) and the Ptolemies (the king of the south). The chapter especially focusses on the Seleuciid king [[Antiochus Epiphanes]] who desecrated the Jewish Temple in [[Jerusalem]]. There is some debate about whether or not this prophecy was written by Daniel hundreds of years before the events as opposed to being written after the event ([[vaticinia ex eventu]]). Regardless it portrays God as being in control and sovereign.
