Commentary

The Book of Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Old Testament. It consists of a series of farewell messages by Moses, Israel's 120-year-old leader. It is addressed to the new generation destined to posess the Promised Land.

The book is traditionally attributed to Moses with the final chapter, the chapter about the death of Moses, being written by a different author.
