- You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a blemish, [or] anything evil; for that is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
- If there be found in the midst of you, within any of your gates which Yahweh your God gives you, man or woman, who does that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh your God, in transgressing his covenant,
- and has gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the army of the sky, which I have not commanded;
- and it be told you, and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire diligently; and behold, if it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in Israel,
- then you shall bring forth that man or that woman, who has done this evil thing, to your gates, even the man or the woman; and you shall stone them to death with stones.
- At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he who is to die be put to death; at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
- The hand of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.
- If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates; then you shall arise, and go up to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose;
- and you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days: and you shall inquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment.
- You shall do according to the tenor of the sentence which they shall show you from that place which Yahweh shall choose; and you shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach you:
- according to the tenor of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do; you shall not turn aside from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
- The man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Yahweh your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.
- All the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
- When you are come to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and shall possess it, and shall dwell therein, and shall say, "I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me;"
- you shall surely set him king over yourselves, whom Yahweh your God shall choose: one from among your brothers you shall set king over you; you may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.
- Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because Yahweh has said to you, "You shall not go back that way again."
- Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
- It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book, out of [that which is] before the priests the Levites:
- and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Yahweh his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;
- that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.

- לא־תזבח ליהוה אלהיך שור ושה אשר יהיה בו מום כל דבר רע כי תועבת יהוה אלהיך הוא׃ ס
- כי־ימצא בקרבך באחד שעריך אשר־יהוה אלהיך נתן לך איש או־אשה אשר יעשה את־הרע בעיני יהוה־אלהיך לעבר בריתו׃
- וילך ויעבד אלהים אחרים וישתחו להם ולשמש או לירח או לכל־צבא השמים אשר לא־צויתי׃
- והגד־לך ושמעת ודרשת היטב והנה אמת נכון הדבר נעשתה התועבה הזאת בישראל׃
- והוצאת את־האיש ההוא או את־האשה ההוא אשר עשו את־הדבר הרע הזה אל־שעריך את־האיש או את־האשה וסקלתם באבנים ומתו׃
- על־פי שנים עדים או שלשה עדים יומת המת לא יומת על־פי עד אחד׃
- יד העדים תהיה־בו בראשנה להמיתו ויד כל־העם באחרנה ובערת הרע מקרבך׃ ף
- כי יפלא ממך דבר למשפט בין־דם לדם בין־דין לדין ובין נגע לנגע דברי ריבת בשעריך וקמת ועלית אל־המקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו׃
- ובאת אל־הכהנים הלוים ואל־השפט אשר יהיה בימים ההם ודרשת והגידו לך את דבר המשפט׃
- ועשית על־פי הדבר אשר יגידו לך מן־המקום ההוא אשר יבחר יהוה ושמרת לעשות ככל אשר יורוך׃
- על־פי התורה אשר יורוך ועל־המשפט אשר־יאמרו לך תעשה לא תסור מן־הדבר אשר־יגידו לך ימין ושמאל׃
- והאיש אשר־יעשה בזדון לבלתי שמע אל־הכהן העמד לשרת שם את־יהוה אלהיך או אל־השפט ומת האיש ההוא ובערת הרע מישראל׃
- וכל־העם ישמעו ויראו ולא יזידון עוד׃ ס
- כי־תבא אל־הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך וירשתה וישבתה בה ואמרת אשימה עלי מלך ככל־הגוים אשר סביבתי׃
- שום תשים עליך מלך אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו מקרב אחיך תשים עליך מלך לא תוכל לתת עליך איש נכרי אשר לא־אחיך הוא׃
- רק לא־ירבה־לו סוסים ולא־ישיב את־העם מצרימה למען הרבות סוס ויהוה אמר לכם לא תספון לשוב בדרך הזה עוד׃
- ולא ירבה־לו נשים ולא יסור לבבו וכסף וזהב לא ירבה־לו מאד׃
- והיה כשבתו על כסא ממלכתו וכתב לו את־משנה התורה הזאת על־ספר מלפני הכהנים הלוים׃
- והיתה עמו וקרא בו כל־ימי חייו למען ילמד ליראה את־יהוה אלהיו לשמר את־כל־דברי התורה הזאת ואת־החקים האלה לעשתם׃
- לבלתי רום־לבבו מאחיו ולבלתי סור מן־המצוה ימין ושמאול למען יאריך ימים על־ממלכתו הוא ובניו בקרב ישראל׃ ס

- Non immolabis Domino Deo tuo ovem, et bovem, in quo est macula, aut quippiam vitii : quia abominatio est Domino Deo tuo.
- Cum reperti fuerint apud te intra unam portarum tuarum, quas Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, vir aut mulier qui faciant malum in conspectu Domini Dei tui, et transgrediantur pactum illius,
- ut vadant et servant diis alienis, et adorent eos, solem et lunam, et omnem militiam cæli, quæ non præcepi :
- et hoc tibi fuerit nuntiatum, audiensque inquisieris diligenter et verum esse repereris, et abominatio facta est in Israël :
- educes virum ac mulierem, qui rem sceleratissimam perpetrarunt, ad portas civitatis tuæ, et lapidibus obruentur.
- In ore duorum aut trium testium peribit qui interficietur. Nemo occidatur, uno contra se dicente testimonium.
- Manus testium prima interficiet eum, et manus reliqui populi extrema mittetur : ut auferas malum de medio tui.
- Si difficile et ambiguum apud te judicium esse perspexeris inter sanguinem et sanguinem, causam et causam, lepram et lepram : et judicum intra portas tuas videris verba variari : surge, et ascende ad locum, quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus.
- Veniesque ad sacerdotes Levitici generis, et ad judicem qui fuerit illo tempore : quæresque ab eis, qui indicabunt tibi judicii veritatem.
- Et facies quodcumque dixerint qui præsunt loco quem elegerit Dominus, et docuerint te
- juxta legem ejus, sequerisque sententiam eorum, nec declinabis ad dexteram neque ad sinistram.
- Qui autem superbierit, nolens obedire sacerdotis imperio, qui eo tempore ministrat Domino Deo tuo, et decreto judicis, morietur homo ille, et auferes malum de Israël :
- cunctusque populus audiens timebit, ut nullus deinceps intumescat superbia.
- Cum ingressus fueris terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, et possederis eam, habitaverisque in illa, et dixeris : Constituam super me regem, sicut habent omnes per circuitum nationes :
- eum constitues, quem Dominus Deus tuus elegerit de numero fratrum tuorum. Non poteris alterius gentis hominem regem facere, qui non sit frater tuus.
- Cumque fuerit constitutus, non multiplicabit sibi equos, nec reducet populum in Ægyptum, equitatus numero sublevatus, præsertim cum Dominus præceperit vobis ut nequaquam amplius per eamdem viam revertamini.
- Non habebit uxores plurimas, quæ alliciant animum ejus, neque argenti et auri immensa pondera.
- Postquam autem sederit in solio regni sui, describet sibi Deuteronomium legis hujus in volumine, accipiens exemplar a sacerdotibus Leviticæ tribus,
- et habebit secum, legetque illud omnibus diebus vitæ suæ, ut discat timere Dominum Deum suum, et custodire verba et cæremonias ejus, quæ in lege præcepta sunt.
- Nec elevetur cor ejus in superbiam super fratres suos, neque declinet in partem dexteram vel sinistram, ut longo tempore regnet ipse et filii ejus super Israël.

- Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
- If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
- And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
- And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:
- Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
- At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
- The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

- According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.
