England is the largest and most populous constituent country of the United Kingdom. It has a population of around 50 million, with London as its capital. It is the most secular country in the United Kingdom, with surveys revealing around half of its people believing in God, a third believing that Jesus is the Son of God and about a fifth believe the Bible is the unique word of God. Less than 10% regularly attend a church service.

History

Celtic peoples have lived in England for thousands of years and continued to be the predominant people around the time of Jesus when the country was occupied by Roman forces and it was during this time that Christianity was first introduced to England through Roman missionaries.
