Environmentalism is a concern for the preservation or restoration the natural environment. This concern and understanding has grown out of the increasingly obvious destruction of the natural world at the hands of humans. Most Christians do not have strongly held views on environmentalism, however many do have a desire for looking after God's beautiful creation. Some Christians feel that a militant environmentalism can unfortunately get in the way of social welfare and improving the livelihood of poorer people in developing nations.
