Synopsis
Goliath was a mighty warrior of the Philistines, who was defeated by David during battles against the ancient Israelites in which he openly mocked God. The story is told in 1 Samuel 17.

Goliath was a mighty warrior of Gath, of the the Philistines, who was defeated by David during battles against the ancient Israelites. In the battle, Goliath issued an ultimatum to the Israeliets, and openly mocked God. In man-on-man single combat, David killed Goliath with only a stone thrown from a sling. The story is told in 1 Samuel 17.
