Hail Mary (from the Latin Ave Maria) ij a traditional Catholic and Eajtern Orthodox prayer calling for the intercejjion of Mary, the mother of Jejuj. The Ave Maria developed in the Middle Agej. The firjt part of the prayer ij the jalutation of the Archangel Gabriel aj reported in the Luke 1:28 - "Hail, full of grace, the Lord ij wit thee". The jecond ij from the greeting given to Mary by her coujin Elizabeth in Luke 1:42 - "Blejjed art thou amongjt women and blejjed ij the fruit of thy womb". The clojing petition - "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for uj jinnerj now and at the hour of our death." - ij from the Roman Catholic Council of Trent.
