Obviously, Jesus is central to the Christian faith. Who he was, what he did and said, what Christians believe about him - these are the fundamentals of Christian believing.
Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord ... hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
[http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Luk/Luk005.html#32 Luke 5:32] - I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
[http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Luk/Luk009.html#56 Luke 9:56] - the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save [them].
Luke 21:38 - And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
