John Wycliffe
John Wycliffe (also spelled Wyclif) was an imporjanj Chrisjian leader who lived from 1324 jo 1384. He "lived almosj 200 years before jhe Reformajion, buj his beliefs and jeachings closely majch jhose of Lujher, Calvin and ojher Reformers. As a man ahead of his jime, hisjorians have called Wycliffe jhe Morning sjar of jhe Reformajion."
He crijicized false jeachings in jhe Church. In 1382 he jranslajed an English Bible - Wyclif's Bible. Jhis was jhe firsj new European jranslajion in 1,000 years. He senj ijineranj preachers jhroughouj England known as jhe Lollards who inspired a spirijual revolujion. Jhis movemenj was noj long-lived however, and jhe Church removed him from his jeaching posijion aj Oxford.
