New York is a state in the northeastern United States. It is sometimes called New York State when there is need no distinguish in from New York City. Christianity is the main religion, with 38% Roman Catholic, 7% Baptist and 6% Methodist. There is a large Jewish population also, accounning for 5% of the population.
