  1. Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
  2. A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, but he will condemn a man of wicked devices.
  3. A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
  4. A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.
  5. The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.
  6. The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.
  7. The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous shall stand.
  8. A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he who has a warped mind shall be despised.
  9. Better is he who is lightly esteemed, and has a servant, than he who honors himself, and lacks bread.
  10. A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
  11. He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.
  12. The wicked desires the plunder of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes.
  13. An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips, but the righteous shall come out of trouble.
  14. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The work of a man's hands shall be rewarded to him.
  15. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.
  16. A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.
  17. He who is truthful testifies honestly, but a false witness lies.
  18. There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.
  19. Truth's lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.
  20. Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace.
  21. No mischief shall happen to the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.
  22. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.
  23. A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.
  24. The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
  25. Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.
  26. A righteous person is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
  27. The slothful man doesn't roast his game, but the possessions of diligent men are prized.
  28. In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.

  1. אהב מוסר אהב דעת ושנא תוכחת בער׃
  2. טוב יפיק רצון מיהוה ואיש מזמות ירשיע׃
  3. לא־יכון אדם ברשע ושרש צדיקים בל־ימוט׃
  4. אשת־חיל עטרת בעלה וכרקב בעצמותיו מבישה׃
  5. מחשבות צדיקים משפט תחבלות רשעים מרמה׃
  6. דברי רשעים ארב־דם ופי ישרים יצילם׃
  7. הפוך רשעים ואינם ובית צדיקים יעמד׃
  8. לפי־שכלו יהלל־איש ונעוה־לב יהיה לבוז׃
  9. טוב נקלה ועבד לו ממתכבד וחסר־לחם׃
  10. יודע צדיק נפש בהמתו ורחמי רשעים אכזרי׃
  11. עבד אדמתו ישבע־לחם ומרדף ריקים חסר־לב׃
  12. חמד רשע מצוד רעים ושרש צדיקים יתן׃
  13. בפשע שפתים מוקש רע ויצא מצרה צדיק׃
  14. מפרי פי־איש ישבע־טוב וגמול ידי־אדם לו׃
  15. דרך אויל ישר בעיניו ושמע לעצה חכם׃
  16. אויל ביום יודע כעסו וכסה קלון ערום׃
  17. יפיח אמונה יגיד צדק ועד שקרים מרמה׃
  18. יש בוטה כמדקרות חרב ולשון חכמים מרפא׃
  19. שפת־אמת תכון לעד ועד־ארגיעה לשון שקר׃
  20. מרמה בלב־חרשי רע וליעצי שלום שמחה׃
  21. לא־יאנה לצדיק כל־און ורשעים מלאו רע׃
  22. תועבת יהוה שפתי־שקר ועשי אמונה רצונו׃
  23. אדם ערום כסה דעת ולב כסילים יקרא אולת׃

  1. ο αγαπων παιδειαν αγαπα αισθησιν ο δε μισων ελεγχους
  2. κρεισσων ο ευρων χαριν παρα κυριω ανηρ δε παρανομος
  3. ου κατορθωσει ανθρωπος εξ ανομου αι δε ριζαι των δικαιων ουκ
  4. γυνη ανδρεια στεφανος τω ανδρι αυτης ωσπερ δε εν ξυλω σκωληξ ουτως ανδρα απολλυσιν γυνη
  5. λογισμοι δικαιων κριματα κυβερνωσιν δε ασεβεις
  6. λογοι ασεβων δολιοι στομα δε ορθων ρυσεται
  7. ου εαν στραφη ασεβης αφανιζεται οικοι δε δικαιων
  8. στομα συνετου εγκωμιαζεται υπο ανδρος νωθροκαρδιος δε
  9. κρεισσων ανηρ εν ατιμια δουλευων εαυτω η τιμην εαυτω περιτιθεις και προσδεομενος
  10. δικαιος οικτιρει ψυχας κτηνων αυτου τα δε σπλαγχνα των ασεβων
  11. ο εργαζομενος την εαυτου γην εμπλησθησεται αρτων οι δε διωκοντες ματαια ενδεεις
  12. επιθυμιαι ασεβων κακαι αι δε ριζαι των ευσεβων εν
  13. δι' αμαρτιαν χειλεων εμπιπτει εις παγιδας αμαρτωλος εκφευγει δε εξ αυτων
  14. απο καρπων στοματος ψυχη ανδρος πλησθησεται αγαθων ανταποδομα δε χειλεων αυτου δοθησεται
  15. οδοι αφρονων ορθαι ενωπιον αυτων εισακουει δε συμβουλιας
  16. αφρων αυθημερον εξαγγελλει οργην αυτου κρυπτει δε την εαυτου ατιμιαν
  17. επιδεικνυμενην πιστιν απαγγελλει δικαιος ο δε μαρτυς των αδικων
  18. εισιν οι λεγοντες τιτρωσκουσιν μαχαιρα γλωσσαι δε σοφων

  1. Qui diligit disciplinam diligit scientiam ; qui autem odit increpationes insipiens est.
  2. Qui bonus est hauriet gratiam a Domino, qui autem confidit in cogitationibus suis impie agit.
  3. Non roborabitur homo ex impietate, et radix justorum non commovebitur.
  4. Mulier diligens corona est viro suo ; et putredo in ossibus ejus, quæ confusione res dignas gerit.
  5. Cogitationes justorum judicia, et consilia impiorum fraudulenta.
  6. Verba impiorum insidiantur sanguini ; os justorum liberabit eos.
  7. Verte impios, et non erunt ; domus autem justorum permanebit.
  8. Doctrina sua noscetur vir ; qui autem vanus et excors est patebit contemptui.
  9. Melior est pauper et sufficiens sibi quam gloriosus et indigens pane.
  10. Novit justus jumentorum suorum animas, viscera autem impiorum crudelia.
  11. Qui operatur terram suam satiabitur panibus ; qui autem sectatur otium stultissimus est. Qui suavis est in vini demorationibus, in suis munitionibus relinquit contumeliam.
  12. Desiderium impii munimentum est pessimorum, radix autem justorum proficiet.
  13. Propter peccata labiorum ruina proximat malo, effugiet autem justus de angustia.
  14. De fructu oris sui unusquisque replebitur bonis, et juxta opera manuum suarum retribuetur ei.
  15. Via stulti recta in oculis ejus ; qui autem sapiens est audit consilia.
  16. Fatuus statim indicat iram suam ; qui autem dissimulat injuriam callidus est.
  17. Qui quod novit loquitur, index justitiæ est ; qui autem mentitur testis est fraudulentus.

  19. Labium veritatis firmum erit in perpetuum ; qui autem testis est repentinus concinnat linguam mendacii.

  21. Non contristabit justum quidquid ei acciderit, impii autem replebuntur malo.
  22. Abominatio est Domino labia mendacia ; qui autem fideliter agunt placent ei.
  23. Homo versatus celat scientiam, et cor insipientium provocat stultitiam.
  24. Manus fortium dominabitur ; quæ autem remissa est tributis serviet.
  25. Mœror in corde viri humiliabit illum, et sermone bono lætificabitur.
  26. Qui negligit damnum propter amicum, justus est ; iter autem impiorum decipiet eos.

  4. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
  5. The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
  6. The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

  18. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
  19. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

  28. In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
