Psalm 129 - Versions
Psalm 129 Text (WEB)
  1. Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say,
  2. many times they have afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.
  3. The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long.
  4. Yahweh is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
  5. Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.
  6. Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up;
  7. with which the reaper doesn't fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
  8. Neither do those who go by say, "The blessing of Yahweh be on you. We bless you in the name of Yahweh." A Song of Ascents.

  1. שיר המעלות רבת צררוני מנעורי יאמר־נא ישראל׃
  2. רבת צררוני מנעורי גם לא־יכלו לי׃
  3. על־גבי חרשו חרשים האריכו ׃
  4. יהוה צדיק קץץ עבות רשעים׃
  5. יבשו ויסגו אחור כל שנאי ציון׃
  6. יהיו כחציר גגות שקדמת שלף יבש׃
  7. שלא מלא כפו קוצר וחצנו מעמר׃
  8. ולא אמרו העברים ברכת־יהוה אליכם ברכנו אתכם בשם יהוה׃

  1. ωδη των αναβαθμων πλεονακις επολεμησαν με εκ νεοτητος μου ειπατω δη
  2. πλεονακις επολεμησαν με εκ νεοτητος μου και γαρ ουκ ηδυνηθησαν
  3. επι του νωτου μου ετεκταινον οι αμαρτωλοι εμακρυναν την ανομιαν
  4. κυριος δικαιος συνεκοψεν αυχενας
  5. αισχυνθητωσαν και αποστραφητωσαν εις τα οπισω παντες οι μισουντες
  6. γενηθητωσαν ως χορτος δωματων ος προ του εκσπασθηναι
  7. ου ουκ επληρωσεν την χειρα αυτου ο θεριζων και τον κολπον αυτου ο τα δραγματα
  8. και ουκ ειπαν οι παραγοντες ευλογια κυριου εφ' υμας ευλογηκαμεν υμας εν ονοματι

  1. Canticum graduum. Sæpe expugnaverunt me a juventute mea, dicat nunc Israël ;
  2. sæpe expugnaverunt me a juventute mea ; etenim non potuerunt mihi.
  3. Supra dorsum meum fabricaverunt peccatores ; prolongaverunt iniquitatem suam.
  4. Dominus justus concidit cervices peccatorum.
  5. Confundantur, et convertantur retrorsum omnes qui oderunt Sion.
  6. Fiant sicut fœnum tectorum, quod priusquam evellatur exaruit,
  7. de quo non implevit manum suam qui metit, et sinum suum qui manipulos colligit.
  8. Et non dixerunt qui præteribant : Benedictio Domini super vos. Benediximus vobis in nomine Domini.

  7. Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
  8. Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
