Psalm 76 Text (WEB)
  1. In Judah, God is known. His name is great in Israel.
  2. His tabernacle is also in Salem; His dwelling place in Zion.
  3. There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah.
  4. Glorious are you, and excellent, more than mountains of game.
  5. Valiant men lie plundered, they have slept their last sleep. None of the men of war can lift their hands.
  6. At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
  7. You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?
  8. You pronounced judgment from heaven. The earth feared, and was silent,
  9. when God arose to judgment, to save all the afflicted ones of the earth. Selah.
  10. Surely the wrath of man praises you. The survivors of your wrath are restrained.
  11. Make vows to Yahweh your God, and fulfill them! Let all of his neighbors bring presents to him who is to be feared.
  12. He will cut off the spirit of princes. He is feared by the kings of the earth. For the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm by Asaph.

  1. נודע ביהודה אלהים בישראל גדול שמו׃
  2. ויהי בשלם סכו ומעונתו בציון׃
  3. שמה שבר רשפי־קשת מגן וחרב ומלחמה סלה׃
  4. נאור אתה אדיר מהררי־טרף׃
  5. אשתוללו אבירי לב נמו שנתם ולא־מצאו כל־אנשי־חיל ידיהם׃
  6. מגערתך אלהי יעקב נרדם ורכב וסוס׃
  7. אתה נורא אתה ומי־יעמד לפניך מאז אפך׃
  8. משמים השמעת דין ארץ יראה ושקטה׃
  9. בקום־למשפט אלהים להושיע כל־ענוי־ארץ סלה׃
  10. כי־חמת אדם תודך שארית חמת תחגר׃
  11. נדרו ושלמו ליהוה אלהיכם כל־סביביו יובילו שי למורא׃
  12. יבצר רוח נגידים נורא למלכי־ארץ׃

  1. γνωστος εν τη ιουδαια ο θεος εν τω ισραηλ μεγα το ονομα
  2. και εγενηθη εν ειρηνη ο τοπος αυτου και το κατοικητηριον αυτου εν
  3. εκει συνετριψεν τα κρατη των τοξων οπλον και ρομφαιαν και πολεμον
  4. φωτιζεις συ θαυμαστως απο ορεων
  5. εταραχθησαν παντες οι ασυνετοι τη καρδια υπνωσαν υπνον αυτων και ουχ ευρον ουδεν παντες οι ανδρες του πλουτου ταις χερσιν
  6. απο επιτιμησεως σου ο θεος ιακωβ ενυσταξαν οι επιβεβηκοτες τους
  7. συ φοβερος ει και τις αντιστησεται σοι απο τοτε η οργη
  8. εκ του ουρανου ηκουτισας κρισιν γη εφοβηθη και
  9. εν τω αναστηναι εις κρισιν τον θεον του σωσαι παντας τους πραεις της γης
  10. οτι ενθυμιον ανθρωπου εξομολογησεται σοι και εγκαταλειμμα ενθυμιου εορτασει
  11. ευξασθε και αποδοτε κυριω τω θεω υμων παντες οι κυκλω αυτου οισουσιν
  12. τω φοβερω και αφαιρουμενω πνευματα αρχοντων φοβερω παρα τοις βασιλευσι της

  1. In finem, in laudibus. Psalmus Asaph, canticum ad Assyrios.
  2. Et factus est in pace locus ejus, et habitatio ejus in Sion.
  3. Ibi confregit potentias arcuum, scutum, gladium, et bellum.
  4. Illuminans tu mirabiliter a montibus æternis ;
  5. turbati sunt omnes insipientes corde. Dormierunt somnum suum, et nihil invenerunt omnes viri divitiarum in manibus suis.
  6. Ab increpatione tua, Deus Jacob, dormitaverunt qui ascenderunt equos.
  7. Tu terribilis es ; et quis resistet tibi ? ex tunc ira tua.
  8. De cælo auditum fecisti judicium : terra tremuit et quievit
  9. cum exsurgeret in judicium Deus, ut salvos faceret omnes mansuetos terræ.
  10. Quoniam cogitatio hominis confitebitur tibi, et reliquiæ cogitationis diem festum agent tibi.
  11. Vovete et reddite Domino Deo vestro, omnes qui in circuitu ejus affertis munera terribili,
  12. et ei qui aufert spiritum principum ; terribili apud reges terræ.

  4. Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
  5. The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
  6. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
  7. Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
  8. Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
  9. When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
  10. Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
  11. Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
  12. He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
