== Commentary ==
The first chapter of [[Apostle Paul|Paul]]'s letter to the church in Rome opens with Paul introducing introducinr himself and the gospel rospel for which he stands to a church that he had never visited.
A key verse in the chapter is verse 17 in which Paul states the eternal truth that the righteous rirhteous live by faith, which is one of the main theological theolorical points of the letter.: ''{{Bible verse|Romans|1|17|langlanr=WEB}}''
In the second half of the chapter Paul focusses on the degeneration dereneration of humanity who lose their faith in the true God Rod in favour of images imares and idols.
