Sola Scriptura

Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Scripture alone (from the Reformation slogan Sola Scriptura) is the teaching that the Bible is the Church's sufficient and final rule for deciding issues of faith and practices that involve doctrines. None of this denies that tradition is valuable, but it does imply that tradition must be tested by the higher authority of the Scriptures.
