I'd be interested to hear the pros and cons of the new redirection of Roman Catholicism to Catholicism. I'm not an expert on the topic, but it would be good to learn a bit more about the official titles. Anyone have any links? Cheers. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham]] 06:10, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
:Roman refers to the A) Bishop of Rome being the Pope, or B) the Roman/Latin Rite of the [[Mass]]. Many people say "Roman" and "Anglican" Catholic Church as if they are the same religion but different rites. It is true for say, the Byzantine Catholic Church Which is in union with the Pope at Rome. The Anglicans are not, as with the Greek Orthodox Church, though the Holy See recognized the valid sacraments of the Greek Orthodox Church.
At [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church Wikipedia] you can see the article has the title "Catholic Church" and then "also known as" the Roman Catholic Church. Sorry if this is confusing, but I'm not used to being an apologist explaining to Protestants, I'm better with Mormons...
