:Roman refers to the A) Bishop of Rome being the Pope, or B) the Roman/Latin Rite of the Mass. Many people say "Roman" and "Anglican" Catholic Church as if they are the same religion but different rites. It is true for say, the Byzantine Catholic Church Which is in union with the Pope at Rome. The Anglicans are not, as with the Greek Orthodox Church, though the Holy See recognized the valid sacraments of the Greek Orthodox Church.
At Wikipedia you can see the article has the title "Catholic Church" and then "also known as" the Roman Catholic Church. Sorry if this is confusing, but I'm not used to being an apologist explaining to Protestants, I'm better with Mormons... Any more questions? ~Darth Stabro ~(Talk)09:30, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
