Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of [[death]]." One of the curses of Christless religion is that it all seems to be so right and proper. The natural mind would conclude that if a person lived a fairly decent upright life, paid his taxes, gave to the Red [[Cross]], and even attended church perhaps on Easter and Christmas, that he would then be acceptable to [[God]]. But of course this is not the case. Ephesians 2:8,9 tells us, "For by [[grace]] are ye saved through [[faith]]; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of [[God]]: Not of works, lest any man should boast." All religions seem right, but all religions end in [[death]]. There is a difference between religion and Christianity. Religion is man searching after [[God]]' Christianity is [[God]] searching after man.

Are you trusting in baptism, good works, church membership, etc., to get you into [[heaven]]? We close each service with that beloved old Gospel invitational hymn by Fanny Crosby, "Just As I Am." If you have not come to [[Jesus]] "just as you are," then you are among that group who is following a way which only seems right to man, but is leading to [[death]]. [[Jesus]] says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.".
